Is my Baby too old for Newborn photos?

You’re a new mom. You just got back from the hospital. You look down at your beautiful new baby, and they smile. You look at your significant other and they are packing up the car to go to babies for the first-month check-up? What…? Already?! You look at your watch… Damn, I need to pick up the balloons for the little one’s 100 days party? Where did the time go…?

I wonder, is it too late to get newborn photos done?

I understand how hectic it is to be a Mom (especially a first-time mom). When my son Lux was born, I had plans for monthly photo shoots, and a photo book, among many other things. And NOT ONE of them was done on time. So believe me when I say, I can relate, and I GOT YOU.

When it comes to photos, I like to be as flexible as I can when it comes to capturing one of the most important times of your life. So being busy or unable to get to me at “the best time” shouldn't get in the way of that.

SO, WHAT IS AN OPTIMAL TIME?

Ideally, to get the most traditional type of Newborn photos, where the baby is all curly, sleepy, most easy to work with; we ideally like to do that type of session in the first 3 weeks of life.

However, if that is not possible, we can do a more lifestyle-focused type of session where we have your baby posing in more casual settings, solo and with family. And these sessions can be done up to 3 months after your little one is born.

So please, don’t let time get in the way of capturing this fleeting moment in your baby’s life. Down the road, what matters is that you captured how they were at that moment, and have a record of the love you shared.
